Alex Thomson

Alex Thomson is an experienced Entrepreneur with extensive skills in Marketing and Commodity Trading. His 15 Year’s experience with Nampak in the Marketing field provided the basis of his expertise in Sales Marketing and Commodity trading. Alex has his business qualifications from Damlin and the University of Pretoria in South Africa as well as Germany and the UK. He is the Co-founder together with Dr Johan Hugo. Alex is also CEO and Director of Glenmore Capital (Pty) Ltd Botswana, a company specializing in Health Care Devices and development of Medical Center and Day Clinic networks and identifying African Countries and various other Health care related initiatives. He commutes between Botswana and South Africa.

Dr Johan Hugo

Johan is a medical and a business development specialist with 32 years experience in the Healthcare Industry and other economic sectors, including telecommunications and leisure. He has an MBBCh and BSc(Med) degrees from the University of Witwatersrand and has business qualifications from Damelin in South Africa and Wharton in the USA. He has worked as a General Practitioner, Development and Operations Director of the Medicross Healthcare Group where he developed 80+ medical centers and 15 day hospitals over a 3-5 year period. He is also the founder of Cell C the third mobile network in South Africa, where he still serves as a director on the board of local shareholders.

 

Over the Years Johan has inter Alia managed the first private clinic in Maputo, Clinica Cruz Azul, worked in the development of a private healthcare strategy in north Africa (Lybia before the civil war), Senegal and MKala. He was approached by Black Ivy to develop their Ambulatory Healthcare facility in Accra, Ghana.

Johan together with his business partners, Mr Alex Thompson and Mr Frans Labuschagne, have embarked on several healthcare projects in the SADC and EAC areas of Africa as part of Glenmore Capital based in Botswana. These include the Development of a business plan with current fundraising initiative, of a medical Center and Day Clinic network identified countries, a medical devices business and various other healthcare related initiatives.

Johan is a keen deep-sea fisherman, scuba diver and lover of the African bush and nature. He is married to Pauline and has two children and a grandchild who live and work in Australia. Johan and Pauline live in Johannesburg, South Africa

Dr. Madelein Griffiths

Dr. Madelein Griffiths completed her PhD in cardiovascular disease at the Northwest University in Potchefstroom. While acquiring her Ph.D Dr. Madelein started her regulatory career wherein she obtained experience in the pharmaceutical industry (which includes medical devices). She currently has 6 years’ experience in this industry, and continues to attend several conferences and workshops to expand her knowledge of this diverse industry.

Frans Labushagne

Frans is an entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience on the Pharma / Healthcare industry. He recently retired form Bayes SA as CEO for Southern Africa where he held different positions over the period of 37 years. He also served as Managing Director for Bayer East Africa where he was based in Narobi Kenya for almost 7 years with the responsibility for almost 40 countries in Middle Africa. His passion is market development and marketing. He is an Associate of the IMM and Alumni of the INSEAD University in Switzerland. He currently is based in Pretoria, South Africa. He is married and for leisure he enjoys traveling and sailing.
